Fiber Optic Communication (AK)
Optical fiber is used as a medium for telecommunication and computer networking because it is flexible and can be bundled as cables. It is especially advantageous for long-distance communications, because infrared light propagates through the fiber with much lower attenuation compared to electrical cables. Students need to learn about the concepts and sound understanding of complete Fiber Optic Communications. This course is intended to better prepare future engineers and computational scientists in understanding Fiber Optic Communications.
Fiber optic communication; optical fiber waveguides; transmission characteristics of fiber optics; optical fibers; optical fiber cables; optical fiber Joints; couplers and isolators; Optical source: LASER, LED; Optical detection; Optical detector detection receiver performance; Optical amplification, wavelength conversion and regeneration; intensity modulation/direct detection; Optical fiber measurements Optical Networks.
